Newcastle and Spurs retain interest in Everton ace Anthony Gordon despite Frank Lampard comments
Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur are still keen on a deal for Everton attacker Anthony Gordon despite Frank Lampard’s vehement stance to retain his services.
According to the Northern Echo, the two Premier League sides, backed by their rich owners, are keen to “engineer” a deal for the 21-year-old English winger.
Having sold Richarlison to Spurs already, Lampard does not want the Toffees to lose another one of their first-team attacking players this summer.

He said, “He’s a great talent and he’s going nowhere. He’s our player – that was a hugely important thing for me.”
Everton even turned down a bid from Newcastle for Gordon but that has not deterred the club’s quest to sign him.
Hold your ground
After giving him the number 10, the club have sent a very clear message to the player and his suitors – he’s not for sale.
Spurs and Newcastle can keep up their pursuit but there’s only a certain amount of time and funds they’ll be willing to put on the table.
Gordon appears to be front and centre of Lampard’s rebuild at Goodison Park this summer and he would not consider his sale under any circumstances.
The player himself is unlikely to throw a tantrum and will continue to get on with business as normal regardless of the interest shown in him.
The 21-year-old certainly fancies a move to Spurs and wants to play in the Champions League, but is not going to throw a tantrum to get his transfer.
The Toffees are in a position of strength and we see the player staying at the club.
