Everton: Nathan Ake collapsed Chelsea move could mean Levi Colwill is given Stamford Bridge chance
Nathan Ake’s collapsed move from Manchester City to Chelsea could mean Everton target Levi Colwill stays at Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Daily Mail reported (13 July) that Everton, along with Southampton, Leicester and Arsenal have all shown interest.
However, it has been reported by The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg on Friday 15 July that Chelsea’s move for Ake is off and that could mean opportunities for Colwill at Stamford Bridge.

However, Everton could still harbour hopes of signing Colwill with The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano reporting (via Twitter) on 13 July that Chelsea are in talks to sign PSG centre-back Presnel Kimpembe.
Everton’s hopes of landing Colwill seem very much dependent on other moves that will occur higher up the transfer food chain.
If Chelsea do land another centre-back then Frank Lampard should be doing all he can to convince his old club to either loan Colwill to the Toffees are let him take the 19-year-old on a permanent basis this summer.
Colwill along with another Everton target Morgan Gibbs-White are exactly the type of players that the Toffees need to be targeting this summer.

Evertonians want to see change at Goodison Park and targeting younger players with a high ceiling is exactly the place to start for the club hierarchy.
It has been an extremely quiet start to the window for the Toffees and Lampard with James Tarkowski his only permanent signing to date.
However, it is promising that the Toffees are being linked with younger players in this summer’s window.
Let’s hope the club hierarchy start to get some signings over the line in the coming days and weeks.
