Sky Sports pundit predicts Everton can win Morgan Gibbs-White race for £30million
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Everton will “have to pay a little bit more” to sign highly-rated Wolves player Morgan Gibbs-White, according to Kevin Campbell.
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth reported on 11 July that the Toffees had made a £25million bid for the versatile attacker which was rejected by the Midlands club, and while he should be available there is competition from Premier League rivals for his signature.
The 22-year-old had a breakout campaign on loan at Sheffield United in the 2021/22 season and Sky Sports pundit Campbell believes that in the circumstances it could cost a bit more, but feels £30million should be enough for Frank Lampard to get his man.

“Yeah look I think every player has their price,” he said speaking exclusively to Goodison News.
“Morgan Gibbs-White is a good young player who really shone at Sheffield United when he was on loan there last season. Got them to the playoff semi-final.
“But obviously it’s a move to another Premier League team so it might take £30million. It might take a little more than £25million.
“But I think that’s the bracket, between 25-30, you probably get him.
“So I’m sure it’s a negotiation but he seems to want to go, and Everton seem smart on getting him.
“So if they want to get him in they’re going to have to pay a little bit more maybe.”

It may have been in the second tier but the production that Gibbs-White managed during the previous campaign has understandably got fans excited.
Campbell himself is one of those and he fully backs the move to sign an up-and-coming talent who managed 12 goals and 10 assists playing in a variety of positions for the Blades.
Without major money to spend this summer it shows the club are serious about this deal since they remain interested despite having £25million turned down, so if the higher number of £30million is enough he could well still arrive at Goodison.
