Everton signing Conor Gallagher will transform midfield
Everton are interested in making a move for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in the ongoing transfer window, according to Football Transfers journalist Jacques Talbot.
The Toffees are in the market to overhaul the squad as they coming off the back of a disastrous campaign where they narrowly managed to escape relegation.
One of the areas manager Frank Lampard is especially keen to strengthen is the midfield, especially after releasing Fabian Delph, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Donny van de Beek returned to Manchester United after a short loan spell.
The 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace, has three years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge.
As much as we talk about Everton’s leaky defence last season, their midfield has also come under fire. They have spent a lot of money on Champions League and European Championship winners in James Rodriguez and Andre Gomes in recent years, but none of them made the kind of impact that was expected of them.
If we look at the current set of midfielders at the club, it only seems that Abdoulaye Doucoure is almost certain to keep his position.
The other midfield positions are still up for grabs and it makes sense that the Merseyside club’s management is looking for options to strengthen the squad.
Signing someone like Gallagher will definitely going to fill one of those positions as he will improve the side.
