Last chance for Everton to beat West Ham for Armando Broja transfer

Everton have been linked with a move for Chelsea striker Armando Broja this summer, but there hasn’t been any concrete effort from the Toffees so far.

If they are really serious about signing a striker, this is the last chance for Frank Lampard to return to his former club and get the deal done ahead of West Ham.

According to a report from The Daily Mail (17 July) Chelsea are unwilling to sell the striker permanently, but the Blues could allow the 20-year-old striker to go out on loan again.

The fact that Chelsea are willing to send the player on a season-long loan should encourage the Toffees to do everything to bring him to Goodison Park.

Everton need to sign a striker this summer, and they have only Dominic Calvert-Lewin as their forward option after selling Richarlison to Tottenham.

Cenk Tosun left the club while Moise Kean doesn’t appear to have any future at the Merseyside club.

Ideally, Frank Lampard would want someone who has got Premier League experience and can compete alongside Calvert-Lewin for the starting role.

Broja fits the bill. He scored nine goals for Southampton last season. He would be the perfect back-up option for the Toffees behind Calvert-Lewin.

But most importantly, Broja would be available on loan. Everton are financial constraints, and getting Broja on loan would really help them financially.

Lampard can look to spend money elsewhere and bolster the squad.

West Ham are looking to strike a loan deal for Broja quickly, but Lampard can easily return to his former club and his good contacts to hijack the deal. The club must show some ambition in the market.

Before the Hammers make a formal approach, this is the last chance for the Toffees to hijack the move.
