Everton are now persisting on a deal to sign Burnley attacker Maxwel Cornet this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper has reported on its website that Frank Lampard is a big fan of the Ivory Coast international, and a permanent deal is now likely for the Toffees.
It was previously shared that Everton were in revised talks over a deal after trying to get a loan move over the line which was turned down by the Championship side.
Everton have already made one offer, making their intentions clear.
Burnley had every right to turn that down, but should that permanent offer come in, it will be very hard for them to say no and keep their star in the Championship.
Cornet is said to favour the move to Goodison Park, and being kept out of recent pre-season friendlies may just prove that the Clarets are on board too.
With debt at Turf Moor rising under Alan Pace, Vincent Kompany will know he needs sales and to cut the wage bill, with the likes of Ben Mee, Nick Pope and obviously James Tarkowski moving on.

Lampard is a big fan of Cornet, and Kevin Thelwell must make sure he gets his man and has him waiting for the manager when he returns from America.
It is very simple this one, pay the £17.5million release clause and you get your man.
This is not the transfer to be messing around and trying to get it done cheaper than that, with other clubs likely sniffing around and thinking about activating that relegation clause.
Everton need to move now and get it done, so they don’t face being left in the mud as another club jumps in and snatches Cornet from our grasp.
Personal terms are said to have been agreed upon, so this is the last hurdle before a medical can be done.
With Richarlison gone, we need that new vocal point in the final third, and after his near-heroics with Burnley last season, Cornet is ready to explode once again in the Premier League.
