Everton to 'try and try again' to sign Morgan Gibbs-White
Everton will not give up on their chase to sign Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking on Wondergoal Podcast on 18 July the Guardian journalist suggested that Frank Lampard will “try and try again” to land him this summer.
Romano reports that Lampard is a massive fan of Gibbs-White, and the Toffees are expected to try for him many times this summer after their opening bid is rejected.
“Lampard is a big fan of (Morgan) Gibbs-White from Wolves,” said Romano to Wondergoal Podcast
“The first proposal was turned down, but Everton is still keen on signing him and I expect them to try and try again till the end of the market.”
Get it done
The Toffees have made just one signing so far, with James Tarkowski joining on a free transfer.
Lampard needs to make some moves quickly as the squad genuinely needs bolstering.
The club appear to be finally springing into action, as they are trying to sign Maxwel Cornet and Armando Broja, along with Gibbs-White.
Adding a midfielder to the squad is necessary, especially after Fabian Delph left the club following the expiry of his contract. The likes of Allan and Andre Gomes are also facing uncertain futures at the club.
Gibbs-White can spearhead the midfield should he join the club. Wolves have rejected the opening offer, but the Toffees are not giving up.
He can be tempted to move to the Merseyside club. It’s not good for any youngster to be sitting on the sidelines and Everton can tempt him with the offer of regular first-team football.
Romano clearly hints that the Toffees won’t back away from the chase even if Wolves reject another bid, which shows how serious Everton are to sign the youngster.
