Everton must act quick to sign Morgan Gibbs-White as Nottingham Forest view dropped
Journalist Jacque Talbot believes that Wolves winger Morgan Gibbs-White may prefer Nottingham Forest over Everton due to his connection with manager Steve Cooper.
The Toffees have been heavily linked with a move for the 22-year-old in the ongoing transfer window as manager Frank Lampard is keen to bolster the squad ahead of the next campaign.
Talbot, while talking on his YouTube channel on July 19, suggested that the attacking midfielder might favour a move to Forest because of his connection with the coach.

“I think he wants first-team football of course and Everton seem to be sniffing around they can probably offer more money than Forest I’d imagine, Everton, but my feeling is and what I’ve heard is probably the player would rather Nottingham Forest purely because of the connection to Steve Cooper,” Talbot said.
“It’s nothing to do with Everton being small or big or anything like that, it’s just because he’s worked with the manager before and has a really good relationship, Steve Cooper really likes him.”
Bad news
The news will be a concerning one for Everton fans as they would’ve been hoping to see the England U21 international showcasing his talent for their club, week in and week out.
In the 2021-22 season, the 22-year-old, while playing for Sheffield United on loan, was extremely influential in the final third where he managed to score 12 times and provided 10 assists in the process in just 37 appearances in the Championship.

He averaged 2.5 shots per goal and had a pass completion rate of 72.7%. As a result of his performances, he earned seven player-of-the-match awards and averaged a rating of 7.14 [Whoscored].
Those numbers are extremely impressive and show why Everton manager Frank Lampard was so keen on making a move for him, especially after losing someone like Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur because there is a genuine concern at Goodison Park about the team’s attacking front ahead of the next season.
