Newcastle United eye big-money move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Newcastle United are plotting a “big-money move” to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to Dean Jones.
The former Bleacher Report journalist wrote for Give Me Sport on 21 July that the Magpies will soon make an attempt to sign the England striker.
Everton have set an asking price of around £60m. There is a feeling around the club that the Magpies would push the boat out to sign Calvert-Lewin.

Big decision
Newcastle need a striker and they are prepared to spend big for the Toffees striker.
Calvert-Lewin struggled for form and fitness last season, but he remains one of the prized assets for the club.
Should Everton sell him if Newcastle match their asking price?
It’s a big question. Every player has a price, and the Toffees could be tempted to sell him if they receive a fee of around £60m for the striker.

The Toffees have sold Richarlison for a high transfer fee, and it should give Frank Lampard a hefty transfer budget to reinvest into the squad.
On the other hand, the Toffees board could face a public backlash if they sell Calvert-Lewin as well, as fans will start to question the club’s ambition.
Everton have only managed to land James Tarkowski so far, and he has joined on a free transfer.
Lampard needs to bring in the right quality of players who can make a big impact, but as of now, they have struggled to make necessary additions to their squad.
