Everton in race to sign Alassane Plea, £6.8m price tag set
Everton are closely monitoring Alassane Plea’s situation at Borussia Monchengladbach and could sign him for just £6.8million, according to L’Equipe.
The 29-year-old found his best form at the end of the 2021-22 season, scoring seven goals and seven assists from February onwards but he wants to be in Didier Deschamps’ Frane squad for the World Cup.
He thinks that his best chance to do that is to leave Gladbach this summer and the Toffees are one of the sides paying close attention to his situation.

OGC Nice and Marseille want to bring him back to his homeland while there are other Premier League sides in the race although they are unnamed by L’Equipe.
His departure from the Bundesliga could be completed by the time the new German season begins in two weeks’ time and the £6.8million price tag would not be an issue for Everton.
Perfect
The Toffees have just lost Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur who is a left-sided player that can also do a job as a striker and Plea is both the same and opposite in his game.

The 29-year-old is more naturally a striker but has often played on the wing for Gladbach and that could be where Lampard plays him if he joins the Toffees prior to the new season commencing at home to Chelsea on 6 August.
Lampard will want to find a new attacker to try and recuperate some of the goals they have lost with the Brazilian’s exit to Hotspur Way and Plea is the kind of target they need given his own track record on the continent.
His experience in European competitions will be massively beneficial to the younger players at Finch Farm too but his main job will be to score goals and take the pressure off Dominic Calvert-Lewin to drag the side to their goals for the 2022-23 campaign.
