End now looks very near for Andre Gomes at Everton after pre-season snub
The end is looking very near for Everton midfielder Andre Gomes this summer as he closes in on an exit, according to the Liverpool ECHO.
The newspaper reported in its print edition [25 July, pg. 45] that despite travelling to the USA tour and training, he is yet to kick a ball in a match scenario for the Toffees.
Gomes is one of the highest earners at the club, earning over £100,000-a-week which adds up to over £5million-a-year as Frank Lampard looks to shake things up [PRT].

Writing in their latest snippet for the Liverpool ECHO this week, Connor O’Neill reacted to one clear absentee at Bloomfield Road over the weekend.
“Amid all the fallout from the Everton teamsheet dropping at Bloomfield Road, one man’s absence appeared to go under the radar,” he wrote.
“Andre Gomes is yet to kick a ball for the Blues this season, and there has been no indication from the club that he has an injury, in fact, he took part in training sessions during the club’s US tour.
“However, something somewhere has gone badly wrong, and the midfielder, it appears, now finds himself firmly on the outside looking in. The end looks very near.”

Smart.
Lampard is making all of the right moves this summer.
Despite incoming business looking slow, getting rid of the deadwood at the club was more important than those new arrivals in many of their cases.
The likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fabian Delph moving on will have saved huge amounts of money in wages, and Gomes on top of that would complete the set.
Apart from Delph at times, those are players who have offered us nothing in recent years, and making that money available should help the strict financial fair play rules and open some doors.
That doesn’t appear to be the case at Everton though, with no more new arrivals appearing to be any closer as things stand, with the season nearly only one week away.
Hopefully, things can change, and if that takes another exit, so be it – Gomes has been carried for a long time now, and it’s time he moved on.
