Everton, Roma want to sign out-of-favour PSG midfielder Gini Wijnaldum
Everton and AS Roma are reportedly looking to offer Paris St Germain midfielder Gini Wijnaldum an escape route this summer.
According to Italian media outlet La Gazetta Dello Sport (July 26, page 10), PSG are not looking to pick up for the upcoming games and are open to cashing in on his services.
Roma manager Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing him to the capital and the Toffees are hoping that they can convince him as well.

Not needed
Wijnaldum may have been a success for Newcastle and Liverpool but at PSG he showed that he’s past his best and clearly on the decline.
Had he been four or five years younger, it would’ve made sense to give him a chance at Goodison Park as he would be one of the best players at the club.
However, at 31, he’s clearly no longer got it and the Toffees do not need to sign someone on the wrong side of 30, especially in such a demanding position.
A central midfielder requires an extremely high work-rate and an engine to run up and down the pitch for the entire game.
Wijnaldum clearly cannot do this anymore and the Toffees must let him go to Roma or whichever club wants him.
The tempo in Serie A is ideal for him and Everton must look for a younger and more physical midfielder who can dictate the tempo in the middle of the park.
The Toffees have been linked with a move for Belgian midfielder Aster Vranckx and he’s a player we would take over Wijnaldum this summer.
