Everton in advanced talks with Burnley over £15m transfer for Dwight McNeil
Everton are in “advanced talks” with Burnley for winger Dwight McNeil, with a fee of around £15million being discussed according to the Telegraph.
The Telegraph has also suggested on Wednesday 27 July that the Toffees expect to get a deal completed for McNeil later this week.
The Toffees are also eying a move for Burnley man Maxwel Cornet, with their move for McNeil not impacting on their pursuit of the Ivorian wing-back.

Signing number three
After securing the signing of Ruben Vinagre, it appears the Toffees are set to finalise two deals in a week, in what has been a positive couple of days for Frank Lampard and the club hierarchy.
McNeil will be Lampard’s first attacking addition after already strengthening his defence this summer.
The 22-year-old should be looked at by Evertonians as a positive transfer despite his stale 2021/22 season for the Lancashire side.
He is still relatively young and has every chance of developing whilst at Goodison Park and turning into an asset for the Toffees moving forward.

McNeil was highly rated after bursting into Burnley’s first team.
If he can recreate form that he has previously displayed in the Premier League then this could well turn out to be an astute piece of work from the Toffees hierarchy.
There will certainly be pressure on him to perform once he completes his move to Everton, but if he can this should be an excellent signing.
Let’s hope the signing of McNeil is a catalyst for more forward-thinking players to come through the door at Goodison Park
