Everton move for Maxwel Cornet has now stalled after Dwight McNeil confirmed
Everton have now seen another transfer move for Burnley ace Maxwel Cornet stall this month, according to the Daily Star.
The newspaper has reported in its print edition [28 July, pg. 42] that the Championship side are holding out for £17million after batting away a loan offer from Goodison Park.
The Toffees have confirmed a deal to sign Dwight McNeil in the past few hours, but it now looks unlikely that Cornet will join him in Merseyside as things stand.

Writing in his latest snippet for the Daily Star, Ryan Taylor shared the news on the Toffees potentially making another swoop on Burnley this summer.
“Negotiations progressed rapidly but a move for McNeil’s Turf Moor team-mate Maxwel Cornet is stalling as Burnley are holding out for his £17million relegation clause having rejected a loan offer.”

Box Smart.
Kevin Thelwell will know that he cannot afford to throw money around similar to other clubs around us in the Premier League, and that is something he has to dance around.
Making the initial loan move, which no doubt included a guaranteed fee next summer was always worth it just to test the waters, but now it looks very unlikely.
With other clubs such as Fulham and Nottingham Forest said to be interested though, if Everton wants to win this race for Cornet, they may have to find a way to cough up the cash.
That would include a small upfront fee and many potential add-ons, but if someone else throws that £17million cash at Burnley straight up, we would have little chance.
Think about it though, would Cornet want to join newly-promoted sides or one of the most historic sides in the Premier League on their way to a new stadium?
We think that answer is pretty straightforward.
