Everton must do all in power to complete blockbuster signing of Lucas Paquetà
Everton are interested in making a move for Lyon attacking midfielder Lucas Pacqueta this summer, according to Calciomercato.
The Toffees are in the market to sign players to strengthen the squad after a horrendous campaign where they narrowly managed to escape relegation.
As per the latest report, the Toffees are competing with league rivals Arsenal who are keen on making a move for the 24-year-old, who is rated at £50million.
Everton are going through a transitional phase where they would’ve to strengthen more than one area to become competitive again.
It is true that their top-most priority was to bolster the defensive unit, but their attack needs a lot of reinforcement too.
For this purpose, the signing of Pacqueta makes a lot of sense as he can prove to be a similar spark in the team as Richarlison used to be before leaving the club and joining Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer.
Even though he prefers to play as an attacking midfielder, he can also play as a central midfielder or on the wings because of his creativity and pace which makes him an absolutely ideal fit for the Merseyside club.
