Everton to offer Idrissa Gueye short-term deal to sign him from Paris Saint-Germain
Everton are looking to sign Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain on a short-term contract this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The Toffees have done well in the transfer window this summer bringing in former Burnley duo James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil as well as completing a loan move for Ruben Vinagre from Sporting CP too.
But Frank Lampard is still keen to add more to his squad including former Everton ace Gueye, who has been told he is free to leave the French champions.

Everton are keen to offer a short-term deal with the player being 32 years of age, with the boss keen to sign two midfielders and a forward before the window slams shut.
Gueye is said to be open to the move to return to Goodison Park [Fabrizio Romano], where he made over 100 appearances during a three-year spell between 2016 and 2019.
Smart
Everton have been known in the past to offer up stupid contracts to players in a bid to convince them to join, but they seem to be avoiding that type of deal this time around.
Gueye would be a good signing who already knows the club and has his best attributes in an area of the pitch where Everton have struggled most in recent times.

But at 32 his prime is likely past him and keeping for anything more than two-years is pushing it. A one-year deal with the option of a second year would be ideal, giving the club the flexibility to look elsewhere if he’s not up to the task anymore.
Lampard has clearly identified the problem areas of the squad and despite working on a shoestring budget he is finding solutions, and deserves credit for that.
Talks are ongoing and Everton are pushing for a fourth summer signing before the season opener against Chelsea, but they won’t be silly if this is anything to go by.
