Everton must move for Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis immediately
Everton should forget about signing Maxwel Cornet this summer, as it could result in a wild goose chase.
The Toffees have been heavily linked with a move for the Burnley midfielder but they face competition from the likes of West Ham and Newcastle United among others.
According to BBC Sport journalist, Fraser Fletcher, Cornet personally prefers a move to West Ham who can offer him European football.
Also, the Hammers have come up with a better package, something the Toffees would struggle with at the moment, considering their financial situation.
Even if Everton manage to come up with a lucrative offer, they could still struggle to lure the player away from Burnley.
With this in mind, the Toffees must allow West Ham or Newcastle to take Cornet, and they should move for Emmanuel Dennis instead.
The Express journalist Ryan Taylor reported on 26 July that the Toffees have made contact with his agent of Dennis.
As of now, no clubs have made a concrete offer to sign the versatile attacker who can play on both flanks as also as a striker. He would be available at around £20m.
The Nigerian forward was one of the key performers for Watford last season. He scored 10 goals and provided six assists in the Premier League last season.
Like Richarlison, he has that fiery character and is capable of producing moments of brilliance. He is skilful and has Premier League experience.
Cornet would have been an ideal signing for the club, but there’s no point chasing after someone who wants to move elsewhere.
The club must come up with a strong offer and rubber-stamp a deal for Dennis asap.
