Burnley may look to reintegrate Everton target Maxwel Cornet in squad
Burnley are reportedly not accepting any loan proposals for Everton target Maxwel Cornet this summer as they want a permanent sale.
According to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor, the Clarets may look to reintegrate him into the squad should a deal not be reached over his sale soon.
A number of clubs have shown an interest in him with the Toffees even seeing their proposal rejected as Burnley look to be holding out for £25million in order to part ways with him. [Daily Mail]
Via Twitter, Taylor wrote, “Burnley have no plans to accept any loan proposals for Cornet after Everton previously tried luck. Ivory Coast international will be reintegrated into Vincent Kompany’s squad in due course, should no solution be found.”
The Toffees have already agreed on personal terms with Cornet so the player is keen on joining.
Nottingham Forest seem to be out of the race as he’s not keen on moving there so that increases chances of a move to Goodison Park.
However, that cannot happen until the two clubs reach an agreement over the fun.
It looks like Everton will now play the waiting game and see if other clubs can match that valuation in the coming days.
If the market cools, they will possibly propose another structured payment that sees them meeting the valuation.
However, instead of paying everything at once, they would break it down into instalments.
Given the club’s financial predicament, it does make sense to do something like this and they still have an outside chance of signing the Ivorian.
