Burnley to sign Manuel Benson with Everton target Maxwel Cornet set to leave

Burnley are reportedly already preparing for life without their key player Maxwel Cornet amid links to Everton this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the 25-year-old is due for a medical at Turf Moor with a four-year deal already agreed as he’s eyed as Cornet’s replacement.

The Toffees, via the same publication’s print edition submitted a £5million bid with £20mllion obligation to buy him next season.

Fresh offer incoming?

If there’s been no progress towards signing Cornet yet then clearly the Clarets are unsatisfied with the offer for their prized asset.

Everton desperately need a left-side attacker and in the Ivory Coast international they will finally have a player who can play in a plethora of positions.

He can be used as a left-back, left wing-back as well as a central striker so if Frank Lampard wants to play two up top, Dominic Calvert-Lewin could find an extremely mobile partner working in tandem with him.

Cornet will certainly b desperate to leave Burnley after their relegation to the Championship on the final day of the Premier League campaign.

He clearly deserves to play top flight football and will get that at Goodison Park.

However, it now remains to be seen if the Toffees can agree on personal terms with him if they do end up making another offer.
