Everton must react as Wolves reject further bid from Nottingham Forest for Morgan Gibbs-White
Everton must react as Nottingham Forest see a second bid of £25million rejected by Wolves for attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
Sky Sports News revealed (14 July) that the Toffees were in talks for the 22-year-old after having a £25million bid of their own rejected.
It has since been reported by Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth (via Twitter, 4 August) that Forest are set to go back in again with a third bid for the 22-year-old.
Whether Everton have the funds to mount a bid for Gibbs-White as well as their other transfer targets remains to be seen, but the attacking midfielder would be a superb addition to Frank Lampard’s squad.
The 22-year-old is clearly ready to make an impact in the Premier League after two loan spells in the Championship with Swansea and Sheffield United.
He probably should’ve been involved in Bruno Lage’s squad in the 2021/22 season and count himself very unfortunate not to have been playing top-flight football earlier.

Wolves’ failure to give Gibbs-White first-team chances has ultimately come back to haunt them with the attacking midfielder unlikely to sign a new deal at Molineux.
With two years left on his current deal, a move this summer could well be likely and after witnessing Forest’s aggressive summer transfer business, the Toffees will have to act fast and show intent if they want to land Gibbs-White.
Everton shouldn’t be afraid to pay a big fee for Gibbs-White’ with the Wolves man a potential long-term asset for whichever club he moves to next.
It would be refreshing to see the Toffees react and launch their own assault on the 22-year-old’s signature.
The Toffees are also in the driving seat for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana according to The Daily Mail (4 August).
