In the case of Onana, the Toffees have reached a full agreement for the player as also personal terms.
Gueye also appears to be close to returning to his former club, with only minor details left to sort out.
The Guardian journalist wrote on Twitter on 5 August: “Everton are now set to sign Amadou Onana, here we go! Full agreement with Lille and personal terms too – he wanted Everton despite West Ham proposal accepted.

The potential signing of Onana has come as a big surprise.
West Ham have been negotiating deals for months, but the Toffees have moved quickly and secured the deal swiftly leaving other suitors absolutely bamboozled.
This is indeed a smart business from the Toffees. Onana is a quality midfielder, and he will be a tremendous signing for the club.
The Toffees also appear to be close to signing Gueye. He is a fantastic midfielder who is loved by Everton fans.
He has made over 110 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain and he brings with him a wealth of experience and quality.
While Gueye may not be at his best in terms of sharpness, considering that he is 32 now, he will still be an effective signing for the club.
The arrival of these two players could pave the way for the departure of Andre Gomes, although the Portuguese international is a different sort of midfielder.
Everton now should turn their attention towards signing a striker once they complete the double deals.
