Everton on-loan striker Moise Kean misses Atletico Madrid friendly on disciplinary grounds
On-loan Everton striker Moise Kean did not take part for Juventus in their 4-0 friendly defeat against Atletico Madrid due to disciplinary reasons, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 22-year-old’s future at the Turin-based club remains in doubt as earlier reports suggested that the Italian club are looking to buy him and move him on, [Corriere Dello Sport print edition, 16 July, page 8]
As per the latest report, Kean missed the side’s clash against Atletico on Sunday as he arrived later than the call time and was thus dropped from the squad.
The recent development will further dent Kean’s stature as a player as he has been having a hard time finding a permanent solution to his club career.
There is no doubt that the player has some serious talent but we have seen it time and again that even more talented players have failed to live up to the expectations because of disciplinary issues.
It is also a reminder that Everton must stay away from the player because they are better off having a player who is not only finding it hard to deliver at the big stage but is also having issues off the field as well.
Kean joined Everton in the summer of 2019 from Juventus in a deal worth £24.75 million. Since then, he represented the Merseyside club in just 39 matches across all competitions, scoring four times and providing a couple of assists [Transfermarkt].
He has been on loan with the Old Lady who also have an obligation to make the deal permanent in the summer of 2023.
