Sunderland close in on signing of Everton striker Nathan Broadhead

Sunderland are closing in on securing a move for Everton striker Nathan Broadhead in the ongoing transfer window, according to Sunderland Echo.

The 24-year-old’s future at Goodison Park remains in doubt as he is now in the final year of his contract.

As per the latest report, the negotiations between the clubs are moving forward as the Black Cats remain keen on bringing the player back to the Stadium of Light on a permanent deal.

It was reported earlier that Merseyside are not willing to part ways with the player completely but they are open to letting the player leave on loan only after extending his contract [The Northern Echo].

Good deal

Broadhead’s time at Everton remains a curious one and it seems like a good deal that they are about to get rid of the player who never really lived up to the expectations.

The 24-year-old joined the club a long time back but only managed to make two senior team appearances which shows that nothing much have gone right for him at a club where he joined the youth ranks back in 2014.

But if he manages to move to Sunderland, as was reported, he would be hoping to hit the ground running after a successful loan spell where he managed to score 13 times in 27 appearances and played a key role in helping the side in getting promoted [Transfermarkt].

However, he must not forget that those performances came in League One whereas a move to Sunderland now will mean that he will have to perform in a much tougher league.
