Everton could table £15.2m loan-to-buy bid for Ludovic Ajorque after talks opened

Everton could reportedly table a £15.2million loan-to-buy bid to sign Strasbourg forward Ludovic Ajorque this summer.

According to Foot Mercato, talks have been opened between the two clubs over a deal with an English intermediary in place.

The Ligue 1 club are hoping to cash in on the 28-year-old striker and block the sale of his teammate Habib Diallo.

Via Twitter, journalist Santi Aouna wrote, “Everton are interested in Ajorque 🇫🇷 and could offer a loan with an option to buy. The first exchanges have taken place. An English intermediary is involved in the case. Strasbourg prefers to sell Ajorque 🇫🇷 and blocks the departure of Diallo.”

Interesting pursuit

The Toffees have been keeping tabs on him all summer and it looks like they’re finally progressing with their pursuit to sign him.

It’s understood that they are facing competition from other Premier League clubs to secure his services so any move for him is not going to be straightforward.

However, it’s imperative that they sign a new striker this summer after losing Richarlison for big money to Tottenham Hotspur.

A loan-to-buy move will mean that they will not be spending any money right away and it could probably be only a loan fee.

This would be an economical move for Everton and with his experience, he should hit the ground running in the Premier League.

He does have experience of playing in a two-man attack and could give Frank Lampard the option of deploying a 3-5-2 system as well.
