Frank Lampard makes Everton transfer admission, comments on Idrissa Gueye link
Frank Lampard has suggested that there could be some outgoings as Everton look to balance the squad.
The Toffees boss was asked to comment on the transfer of Idrissa Gueye, but he remained coy and didn’t give away much about the latest situation of the deal.
The Toffees have been heavily linked with a move for Gueye with Fabrizio Romano even suggesting on August 8 that talks were in the “final stages” to sign the midfielder.

“It would be unfair to do so. We’re working our way to seeing ways we can improve the squad but while I’m happy to talk about those we have in, any potential targets are obviously for us to keep working on behind the scenes,” said Lampard, as quoted by Liverpool Echo.
“That’s a similar answer because you respect the players that are with us. We need to get a balanced squad and at times if you’re bringing players in, the reality is that players will leave but those situations, one by one, have to be right for the club first and foremost, and then the player also and any potential club that they may move to, so again I won’t commit on that one until you get those things in place.”
More business
Everton have done some fantastic business this summer, but the Toffees are still not done yet.
They need to offload some of the players to make room for new arrivals, and also signing a striker has become a top priority for the club.
Bolstering the midfield is also a priority for Lampard, but whether they will be able to pull off a deal for Gueye remains to be seen.

The Toffees have bolstered their midfield by adding Amadou Onana on a big-money fee, but Gueye would have still been a fantastic addition for the club.
In terms of players going out, Lampard probably could try to sell Andre Gomes or Yerry Mina. The Toffees have added depth and quality in defence, and Lampard can sell Mina to balance the books.
Gomes, likewise, has become surplus to requirements at the club, and he could be offloaded if the right offer arrives for him.
