Everton confirm starting XI for Premier League clash v Aston Villa
Everton have confirmed their starting XI for the Premier League fixture against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday.
The Toffees are coming off the back of a close 1-0 defeat against Chelsea in their season opener at Goodison Park where the likes of Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina went off injured.
Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, Frank Lampard has handed out a first start for Conor Coady, whereas Amadou Onana will make his debut from the bench.
Big match
Everton had a horrid last campaign where they narrowly managed to escape relegation.
Coming into this season, they would’ve been hoping to start producing positive results from the get-go but suffered defeat in the season opener against Chelsea.
Therefore, the match against Villa becomes even more crucial for the Toffees as Lampard would not want to be in a situation where the club does not have a single point after the first two matchdays.

However, looking at the historical record would not give Everton fans much hope as the side have secured just 13 wins in 54 outing against the Villans in the Premier League and suffered 22 defeats as well whereas 19 matches ended in a stalemate [Transfermarkt].
They are winless against Villa in the last six matches in the Premier League with four defeats and two draws and their last win against the team came way back in 2016 at the same venue courtesy of goals from Ramiro Funes Mori, Aaron Lennon and Romelu Lukaku [Transfermarkt].
