Chelsea plan to make second bid for Everton youngster Anthony Gordon

Chelsea are ready to submit another bid to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton, as per Paul Joyce.

The reliable journalist wrote for The Times on 15 August that the Blues are ready to test Everton’s resolve with an offer for the forward that could reach £50 million.

The Toffees have made it very clear that the player is not for sale, and they have already rejected an opening offer from the Blues.

This could become extremely tricky now if Chelsea do present an offer in the region of £50m for Gordon.

The 21-year-old is an exceptional talent who became a regular for the first team last season.

He has got terrific energy and bundles of quality, but at the same time, he is inexperienced.

Every player has a price, and the amount quoted for him is tempting. It’s a huge money, and the Toffees can rebuild the squad using it.

The Toffees are keen to sign Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher, and with that money, Frank Lampard would be able to get both the players.

If not, at least the Toffees can sign one of them directly while can get the other one on loan with a view to making it permanent. In the long run, it could benefit the club.

Having said that, Everton can still deliver a strong statement of intent by keeping hold of Gordon. It could send a wrong message to the fan base as well if they sanction his exit.
