Everton finances serious threat as Frank Lampard puts foot on gas for new striker transfer
Everton are still under serious threat with regards to their finances as they look to sign a new striker this week, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper has reported on its website that Frank Lampard is set to put his foot on the gas to sign a new attacker before the upcoming clash with Nottingham Forest.
Southampton talisman Che Adams is said to be firmly in sights as he looks for another number nine at Goodison Park with injuries still a real issue.

Despite the wish for another striker, it remains a doubt.
The finances are said to be a serious threat to the hope of any more signings in Merseyside, although that may mean after a new striker has arrived.
Everton could look to explore a loan-to-buy deal for Adams, with The Athletic previously reporting that an approach has been made to get a move done before the deadline.

Problem?
Could this start to become a real issue?
We knew that we weren’t in a position where huge money could be spent, but most of the Richarlison money has been splashed and put back into the squad.
Dwight McNeil and Amadou Onana have both arrived for what will eventually cost more than £50million with other smart deals for the likes of James Tarkowski and Conor Coady.
So, with a new striker also wanted, it looks as though Lampard and Kevin Thelwell will need to be smart with how they negotiate a deal around these finances.
If Adams could arrive on an initial loan with an obligation to buy next summer, that would appear perfect.
The only stumbling block would be if Southampton were willing to let one of their players go to a Premier League rival for nothing now, but with the possibility that he could help us instantly.
That is the question, and we assume that the answer will be coming very soon for Everton.
