Everton want Billy Gilmour in deal as Chelsea look to submit Anthony Gordon bid

Everton are reportedly set to ramp up their efforts to sign Chelsea attacking midfielder Billy Gilmour amid recent developments.

According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are looking to make another bid for Anthony Gordon and the Toffees want the Scotland international to be included in the deal.

They are ready to open talks to sign the young midfielder as Frank Lampard is a keen admirer.

Best for all parties?

Gordon appears to have made his mind up about his future and a move to Stamford Bridge is one that he seems to fancy this summer.

There was interest from Newcastle earlier as well but nothing really came of it as the 21-year-old possibly did not fancy a move to St James’ Park as much as one to Chelsea.

In west London, he will not only challenge for the Premier League title every year but will also compete in the Champions League.

The new owners appear to be willing to loosen the purse strings to sign top talent and are doing just that with their interest in Gordon.

Everton are keen on another midfielder this summer after Amadou Onana’s big money acquisition and Gilmour would be the perfect option for them.

It seems like Chelsea will be open to selling him as well as there seem to be very few chances of him becoming a first-team player this season.

His pursuit is also extremely important as Idrissa Gueye does not appear to be overly keen on returning to Goodison Park.

It’s understood that he’s contemplating whether it’s the right move for him and they would rather get someone who wants to be there.

Gilmour will come to the club with winning experience – as he became the 32nd Scot to lift the Champions League back in 2021.
