Everton want to sign Bristol City prized asset Antoine Semenyo, could cost £15million

Everton now want to sign Bristol City attacker Antonio Semenyo in the final two weeks of the window, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported on its website that the Championship club don’t want to lose their prized asset in the summer window, but Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are also interested.

Semenyo is currently injured though after suffering a shin injury at the end of the 2021-22 season and isn’t expected to return until October.

Bristol City have the option to extend the contract of the attacker for an extra year, with Semenyo’s current deal set to expire at the end of this campaign.

The Ghanaian is in hot demand this summer, and it comes after he shined in the Championship before his injury ended his season.

A battle is on for Bristol City to keep hold of their star man in the next two weeks, with £15million said to be enough to get the deal done for any of the interested clubs.

Prized asset.

Everton are crying out for new attackers, and Semenyo could be the answer.

The Ghanaian attacker isn’t available instantly though, and that could be a real issue given that we need players to come in and make a difference straight away.

Given that it would cost around £15million, that would not be great value for money – especially when we aren’t exactly in a position to be just throwing it around.

Farhad Moshiri will likely be working closely with Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell to get more deals over the line, but in a way where it doesn’t affect us too much.

Loans with obligations to buy later are technically the way we should be moving, and it is hard to see £15million being coughed up when eventually over £50million will have been splashed on Dwight McNeil and Amadou Onana.

This is certainly one to watch in the next two weeks though, could Everton spring a surprise move?
