Everton ace Dele Alli really close to joining Besiktas on loan with option to buy
Everton midfielder Dele Alli is really close to joining Besiktas on loan with an option to buy, according to A Spor journalist Sercan Dikme.
Dele joined the Toffees in January in an initial free transfer, with potential clauses costing the club up to £40m, but he has failed to make any type of impact at Goodison Park since joining.
Now a loan move away is close with Turkish giants Besiktas set to agree a deal with Everton to bring the 26-year-old to Istanbul for the 2022/23 season.
Dele has only started one game for Everton since joining, in the dead rubber defeat to Arsenal on the final game of the season after the club avoided relegation.
Disaster
There was plenty of excitement and joy about the signing of Dele when the deal was confirmed on deadline day, with many believing that Frank Lampard would be able to get him back to his best.
But what’s followed has been a complete lack of trust from the manager and the player, and maybe poor performances in training, which has seen the player not even given a sniff of an opportunity.
Everton are due to make a first payment to Tottenham as part of the deal that brought him to Everton once he hits 20 appearances, and it seems as though they’re looking to ship him out before that is the case with this deal.
A change of scenery away from the limelight of the Premier League is certainly something that could benefit Dele, but also the fact that it’s a lower level of competition may be exactly what he needs.
Despite being given a new squad number this summer which suggested he would be given a chance, he hasn’t started yet this season and now looks set to leave.
