Everton must sign Antoine Semenyo to bolster attack

Everton are interested in signing Championship club Bristol City’s Antoine Semenyo in the summer, according to Daily Mail.

The Toffees are in the market to sign a striker, especially after the departure of Richarlison who ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer.

As per the latest report, the Merseyside club are one of the sides who are keen on making a move for the 22-year-old in the ongoing transfer window and they are facing competition from Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

Promising but not enough

Everton arrived in the transfer market hoping to sign a number of players after a horrendous campaign where they narrowly escaped relegation.

One of the areas they were extremely keen on strengthening was the attacking department and that urge must have increased with the departure of Richarlison and an injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has been ruled out of action for a considerable amount of time.

The signing of Semenyo will be a step in that direction as he is young enough to not only become a powerhouse in the future but can also contribute to the team’s cause currently as well.

However, by the look of it, he is not going to be enough for the side to replace someone as prolific as Richarlison who an established striker was and proved his mettle in the Premier League before making a move to the Goodison Park.

The 22-year-old has played 89 Championship fixtures in his career where he has managed to score 10 times and provided 17 assists [Transfermarkt].
