Alan Brazil: Everton fans want ‘stupid’ Dele Alli gone after what happened outside Finch Farm
Alan Brazil has blasted midfielder Dele Alli again for turning up at Everton in a Rolls Royce back in the winter when he signed from Tottenham.
Alli, 26, has been strongly linked with a move to Besiktas this week with Fotomac reporting that the out-of-sorts midfielder is due in Istanbul for a medical on Friday (19 August) ahead of a loan-to-buy move.
Since joining the Blues in January, Alli has played just 13 times in all competitions but he didn’t get off to a good start on Merseyside when he first arrived at Finch Farm in a flashy car, according to talkSPORT host Brazil.

“I’m disappointed because I want Dele to do well,” said Brazil, as shown on the talkSPORT Twitter account on Thursday morning (18 August).
“When you’ve got that ability, you want the kid to come back and do well.
“Where I had the hump was A, he was stupid turning up in a Rolls Royce but B, his advisors, whether it’s his brother or whether it be an agent, someone had to pull him aside and say, ‘you can’t do that, no, no, no, get a cab in’.”
After Gabby Agbonlahor said it’s a nice car, Brazil said: “It’s a lovely car but it’s not the point.
“I know you disagree but I’m sorry, you don’t do that. The Goodison faithful are like, ‘get rid’.
“You want to get off to a good start and that was not a good start.”
Oh, come on
Of all the things to criticise Alli for, this one is just ridiculous.
If he drives a Rolls Royce, a Reliant Robin or the Batmobile, we don’t care how Alli makes his way to training as long as he gets there.
What matters is what he does on the pitches at Finch Farm.
Based on the fact that Alli has failed to break into Frank Lampard’s starting line-up suggests that he hasn’t been doing the work he should have been doing at the training ground.
That’s how he should be judged, not by his choice of transport.
But Brazil’s an old man with old views that probably won’t change.
Alli hasn’t done it for Everton and he hadn’t done it for Spurs for a few seasons.
Jose Mourinho did get a tune out of the ex-MK Dons player for a bit but ultimately, he’s slipping into obscurity and there’s a real fear that this move to Besiktas won’t even work out for him.
What next, after that?
The MLS, the Chinese Super League, retirement?
Alli needs to address this slump as soon as possible for his own sake.
