Besiktas reach £34,000-a-week agreement to sign Everton star Dele Alli, medical on Friday

Besitkas will not pay a loan fee to sign Dele Alli from Everton but will pay £34,000-a-week of the midfielder’s wages, according to Fotomac.

The Turkish news outlet reported on Thursday (18 August) that Alli, 26, is due in Istanbul on Friday (19 August) to undergo a medical with Besiktas ahead of a loan move that includes an option for a permanent switch next summer.

It is understood that after he has a medical with Besiktas, Alli will then sign a contract with the Black Eagles, who have enjoyed a decent start to the new 2022/23 Super Lig season.

The Times has claimed that Alli’s contract at Goodison Park is worth £100,000-a-week but it seems that Besiktas are only going to be paying around a third of that based on the figures shared on Fotomac’s website.

We are gutted that it hasn’t worked out for Alli at Everton.

But something is going seriously wrong with the midfielder and it’s clearly best for all parties that he moves on and tries to revive his career elsewhere.

Maybe a move abroad will give him a new lease of life.

Alli was incredible for Tottenham and England for a good amount of time.

His fall from grace is one of the biggest we’ve seen in recent English football history and as big a club Besiktas are in Turkey, it’s a major drop down in class for the ex-MK Dons man.

Everton haven’t got the best of deals either based on the figures mentioned by Fotomac and The Times.

It was always going to be a big ask for Besiktas to cover all of Alli’s £100,000-a-week wages but at least Everton have moved to reduce their payments to the midfielder with this loan agreement.

Everton cannot afford passengers in the squad due to the Financial Fair Play issues so considering we signed Alli for nothing in January, this is a good deal really.
