Everton want to keep Anthony Gordon for another season – Fabrizio Romano
Everton want to keep winger Anthony Gordon for at least another season before allowing him to leave the club, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison Park in the ongoing transfer window as Chelsea are leading the chase and have already seen their bid rejected [Sky Sports].
Romano, while talking to Givemesport, stated the Toffees are keen to keep the player for another season before selling him the next summer.

“On the player side, there will be no problem,” he said. “But it’s also true that Everton will fight to keep the player.
“They would love to keep him for one more season and maybe sell him next summer for a different price. So, at the moment for Gordon, this is the situation.”
Crucial
Everton are going through a more than decent transfer window where they’ve lost a key player in Richarlison who joined Tottenham Hotspur but have added a number of players to bolster different areas on the pitch.
With just over two weeks remaining in the ongoing window, it is important that the Toffees must not lose another key player as there is not enough time left to find a replacement, especially at a time when the side are still looking to find a player to fill the void created by the departure of Richarlison.

Therefore, manager Frank Lampard must do all in his power to ensure that Gordon will be an Everton player come the second of September.
The Liverpool-born winger is the Merseyside club’s academy product and was promoted to the senior team in January 2020.
Since then, he has played 62 matches for Everton across all competitions where he has managed to score four times and provided eight assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
