Frank Lampard desperate for more Everton signings as Anthony Gordon inches close to Chelsea move

Frank Lampard is now reportedly desperate for the Everton hierarchy to get him new players as Anthony Gordon also looks set to leave for Chelsea.

According to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, the former Chelsea captain is an admirer of a number of players at Stamford Bridge and has them on his priority list this summer.

Chelsea are confident of signing the 21-year-old and the Toffees will now be eyeing replacements for him.

Via Twitter, Crook wrote, “#CFC seem confident of signing Anthony Gordon. Big call for #EFC as they know it won’t go down well with fans. Lampard desperate for additions and has many Chelsea players on his list.”

Hope he’s backed

Like Rafa Benitez, Lampard cannot be judged if he’s not backed properly in the window and that seems to be happening this summer.

He’s lost Richarlison and likely to lose Gordon – two of his best outfield players – and no quality replacement has still been signed.

With little over a week left before the window closes, the Toffees need new signings and they needed them last week.

It’s already too late and they’re unlikely to bring in players who can offer the same kind of output as Gordon or Richarlison.

They knew about the Brazilian’s intentions since June but still do not have a replacement at the club and it remains to be seen how and if they replace Gordon.

It has been reported that Everton are now willing to battle Newcastle and shell out £30million to sign Watford forward Joao Pedro.
