Alan Myers shares if Everton will pay Dele Alli salary as Frank Lampard confirms Besiktas move

Alan Myers claims that Everton will not be paying Dele Alli’s salary as he appears set to join Besiktas on loan this summer.

Speaking to the media after the Carabao Cup win against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday, Frank Lampard confirmed that the Englishman was on his way out.

Via the Liverpool Echo, he said, “He’s very advanced to moving to Besiktas. It’s not absolutely done yet but it’s very advanced.”

When asked about the salary and if the Toffees will be paying it, Myers replied on Twitter, “I’d doubt that.”

Makes sense

Everton should not be paying Alli’s wages and the sooner he’s off the books at Goodison Park the better it is for the club.

The Toffees were clever in signing him on a free from Spurs and they will now be due a certain percentage when the Englishman ends up being sold.

It made little sense, however, to get Alli in, as he was never really going to be a regular at the club and Everton could’ve looked at other players instead.

It is fair to say that Alli has played his last game in a Toffees shirt and a few years down the line, many will forget the brief stint he had at Goodison Park.

Hopefully, he rediscovers his best form in Turkey because he does not seem to be a Premier League level player as things stand.

It’s now time for incomings and with a week left to go, we’re expecting Kevin Thelwell and co to hurry up with their pursuit of new signings and get them over the line as soon as possible.
