Gary Neville reacts as Chelsea willing to pay £60m for Everton attacker Anthony Gordon
Gary Neville appears to be stunned as Chelsea are reportedly willing to pay £60million for Everton attacker Anthony Gordon.
The London club have been in hot pursuit of the 21-year-old all summer and are now paying a huge transfer fee to sign him.
The Toffees have snubbed offers for him in the past this summer and it remains to be seen whether or not they finally decide to sell him.
Neville took to Twitter to sum up his amusement by using an emoji.
Big move
Everton fans may not like the fact that Gordon could be on his way out this summer but even they will tell you that they’re getting a good deal.
Few realistically believe that the Englishman would go for such crazy money even in today’s day and age, having broken into the first team only last season.
He’s not even been capped by England yet and his end product is still not quite where a club competing for the league and Champions League would want it to be.
However, if they’re willing to take the gamble, the Toffees must not look to stand in their way and cash in on Gordon.
His valuation is unlikely to go up from here and if he’s keen on the move himself, it does not make sense in keeping an unhappy player at the club.
The Toffees must ensure that they sign a good enough replacement with the funds generated and also buy a striker before the window closes.
