Everton front queue to negotiate £14m fee with Manchester United for James Garner

Everton are now reportedly fronting the queue of Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton to negotiate a fee with Manchester United for their midfielder James Garner.

According to the Times, the Old Trafford outfit are looking for a fee in the region of £14million to part ways with the Englishman.

The two Premier League sides are also keeping tabs but the most advanced interest is that of Everton’s who are keen on signing a central midfielder.

Everton

Sign him

We’re hoping that the haggling is now over the structure of the deal and not really anything else as that’s a fair fee for a midfielder who can potentially go on to achieve big things.

Many tipped him to become a first-team player for Manchester United this season itself but it turns out that Erik ten Hag does not really fancy him.

Well, his loss can be Frank Lampard’s gain at Everton and the high-energy midfielder will certainly add much-needed energy to a static midfield.

Last season at Nottingham Forest, Garner was pivotal not just in dictating the tempo but also in winning back the ball and being an assertive presence in the middle of the park.

He was one of the main reasons why he got promoted this season and at 21, it’s a wise investment for the Toffees to make.

Things appear to be getting complicated in the Idrissa Gueye pursuit and there’s a good chance that the move now does not go through.
