Alan Myers: Everton still locked in talks for priority new striker transfer, Anthony Gordon does not effect things
Everton are still locked in talks to secure a new striker signing as their transfer priority in the final week of the window, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist has reported that talks will continue over bringing in a new number nine, regardless of what happens with Anthony Gordon and Chelsea.
It is suggested that the Toffees are determined to keep hold of the winger, but he is ready to move to Stamford Bridge with a £60million offer being mooted.

Writing on his personal Twitter account to update the situation, Myers shared the latest regarding the hunt for a new striker and if anything can change that.
“Latest: Jean-Phillipe Gbamin in talks to join Trabzonspor,” he wrote. “Niels Nkounkou expected to join Cardiff on loan
“Everton remain determined to keep Anthony Gordon at the club
“Bringing a striker in remains the priority and talks are ongoing in that regard Despite Gordon situation.”
Get it done.
Forget anything to do with Gordon for now, that is not the priority.
Everton have been crying out for a new striker for months now, and Farhad Moshiri simply has to pull his hand out of his pocket and get this one done.
It’s easy to take a stance on Gordon, and that is he should be going nowhere if we want to move forward.
It is scandalous that we are still in a position where we may need to sell and any mention of big money leads to many believing we should snap it up and run.
Regardless of what the young star has achieved or done in the game, he has been the one breath of fresh air in recent months and is the one player to drive us forward.
Getting rid of him would leave us with no attackers, and potentially a new striker who may take a lot of time to gel and settle in the squad and the Premier League.
Just concentrate on one for now – the striker.
