Everton forward Anthony Gordon ‘ very unlikely’ to join Chelsea
Everton forward Anthony Gordon is “very unlikely” to join Chelsea, as per Tom Roddy.
The Times journalist shared on Twitter on 31 August that the Blues don’t value him above £40 million.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the youngster, but they are some £20 million short of the player’s valuation set by Everton.
Roddy wrote on Twitter: “Anthony Gordon to Chelsea very unlikely now as Chelsea don’t value him above £40m.”
Fantastic
Having sold Richarlison already to Tottenham Hotspur it would have come as a big blow for the club if he would have joined another Premier League rival this summer.
At one point, it felt like he could join Chelsea. The Blues have had bids rejected for the player, but Frank Lampard was adamant that the club will only sell him on their terms.
Gordon is a fabulous young talent, and he is the future of the club. He has scored in back-to-back games but couldn’t help the Toffees win their previous two games, as they ended in a draw.

There are signs of progress from the Toffees, and they are expected to get better once Dominic Calvert-Lewin returns to action.
It will be interesting to see if the Toffees look to bring one or two more players on the deadline day. Idrissa Gueye is expected to arrive, having completed his medical while James Garner is likely to join as well [Fabrizio Romano; 31 August] from Manchester United.
