Everton set to battle Valencia to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz
Everton are now reportedly set to battle Valencia and Villarreal to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz ahead of the deadline.
According to the Daily Mail on 31 August, the Chilean striker may even leave on a free next summer as he is weighing up pre-contract proposals from Celta Vigo and Nice.
The two sides have already made offers for him and are willing to agree terms with him in January to sign him for free at the end of the season.

No chance
If Blackburn are willing to let go of him in the next two days, then they will do everything they can to be compensated for his sale.
Rather than losing a player of his class on free, Rovers could use that money to strengthen other areas of their squad as they look to return to the Premier League.
Diaz surely deserves to play top flight football and may not be willing to wait another season if a club like Everton comes in for him.
Frank Lampard remained coy when he was asked about potential attacking incomings but there is a feeling that he would want to reinforce his side in the final third.
They signed Neal Maupay but he’s not quite the Richarlison replacement they were looking for and he’s likely to serve as a backup to Dominic Calvert-Lewin when the Englishman is fit.
Diaz can be the ideal Richarlison backup as he can play all across the front three and guarantees goals – something which cannot be said about too many players at Goodison Park.
