Everton target Antoine Semenyo set to stay at Bristol City

Everton target Antoine Semenyo is set to remain at Bristol City beyond the end of the transfer window according to Bristol World.

It’s understood that Everton, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth have all displayed an interest in the Ghana international.

However, Bristol World revealed on Wednesday 31 August that even if a big offer did arrive before the deadline, Bristol City would be unlikely to accept due to the lack of time to find a replacement.

The Daily Mail reported on 15 August that Everton were keen on a £15million move for Semenyo.

However, the 22-year-old forward probably needs another season in the Championship to really ensure that he is ready to make the step up to the Premier League.

Neal Maupay’s arrival at Goodison Park has eased Frank Lampard’s striker woes and it now looks as if a big money move for a forward is probably off the cards now.

Semenyo is a player that the Toffees could look to target in the future, with the striker fitting the calibre of player that Everton need to be targeting.

He is still young and could develop into an asset should he make the move from the Championship to the Premier League.

However, Bristol Live suggested that Nigel Pearson is looking for a huge bid of over £30million for any of his prised assets which is outrageous for a player who hasn’t played in the Premier League.

Evertonians should keep an eye on how Semenyo performs in the Championship this season.

He could be one the club go back in for in the future.
