Idrissa Gueye takes flight to England ahead of Everton move

Idrissa Gueye has taken flight to England ahead of his move to Everton, as reported by Le Parisien journalist, Papa Mahmoud Gueye.

He shared a video on Twitter on 30 August where Gueye was seen boarding in flight along with his family, as he prepares to return to his former club.

Alan Myers reported on Twitter that the Toffees have agreed to pay around £8m, and the player will undergo his medical on Wednesday (31 August).

The journalist wrote on Twitter: “Gana Gueye in flight, heading to England.”

Exciting

The next 48 hours are going to be crazy, and we don’t know yet whether Anthony Gordon will stay at the club or not.

Gueye has been chased by the Toffees throughout the summer, and at one point it seemed like they will miss out on him. However, the deal is finally in place, and unless there’s a problem with medical, Gueye should become the next player for the Toffees before the deadline.

He is an experienced defensive midfielder and will add depth and steel in the middle of the park. It remains to be seen if his arrival paves the way for the departure of Allan, who has been linked with a move away from the club.

Everton

Gueye is a favourite among the fans, and he still has got a few good years left in him. While he is not the same player anymore who once dazzled at Goodison Park, Lampard can still get the best out of him.

All eye will be on what the future unfolds for Gordon. He was immense during 1-1 draw against Leeds United, and Lampard wants him to stay. However, he could still join Chelsea, and the Toffees could be forced to bring in more players in the next two days.
