Everton look for another striker as Joao Pedro move collapses today – Sky Sports

Everton are now looking elsewhere for a new striker on transfer deadline day after a move for Watford hotshot Joao Pedro collapsed, according to Sky Sports News.

Rob Dorsett has relayed the news that the Toffees made a loan with an obligation to buy offer worth up to £20million, but the Hornets wanted at least £30million.

The Brazilian himself has confirmed on social media that he will be remaining at Vicarage Road, showing that the move certainly has no chance of being revived.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Dorsett shared the news that was delivered live on Sky Sports News this afternoon on deadline day.

“Everton have given up in attempts to sign Watford striker Joao Pedro,” he wrote.

“Everton offer was a loan with option to buy for just over £20m. Watford didn’t want to sell, and wouldn’t entertain a loan, unless it included obligation to buy for £30m.

“Everton looking elsewhere for striker.”

Overdrive.

Kevin Thelwell and Frank Lampard will now be going non-stop looking for a new striker with last-gasp deals now being completed everywhere in the Premier League.

Marseille striker Bamba Dieng is another linked with the Toffees this summer, but he now looks set to join Leeds United so that could be another name chalked off.

It looks as though we put the foot on the gas for Pedro, but it has backfired leaving us back to square one.

Farhad Moshiri could have moved up to £30million, but rules may not have allowed it given our issues with the profit and sustainability rules.

Clubs become less open to selling players the closer they get to the deadline, so hopefully, this collapse hasn’t left it too late to bring someone in we really want.

All eyes are on Goodison Park now with the phones no doubt going non-stop as Everton look for more reinforcements.
