Everton try to trump Fulham move for Ben Brereton-Diaz on deadline day

Everton have moved to hijack Fulham in their bid to sign Blackburn striker Ben Brereton-Diaz on deadline day, according to Rob Dorsett.

The Sky Sports journalist has reported that Blackburn do not want to sell the South American, but a deal between £15million and £20million is on the cards.

The Toffees are pushing along with their move after failing in a bid to sign Watford hotshot Joao Pedro earlier today, with talks ongoing over structure of a deal.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Dorsett shared the news that has come out of nowhere with a deal now on the cards for the Chilean.

“Everton try to trump Fulham with a late attempt at a deal for Blackburn’s Ben Brereton Diaz,” he wrote.

“Everton pushing now after failing to get Watford Joao Pedro. Talks ongoing re structure of a deal that suits Everton and Blackburn -who don’t want to sell but would take a £15-20m bid seriously.”

Here We Go.

Diaz could be the man we have been crying out for.

With Neal Maupay already signed and Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the verge of his return, we could have three brilliant options in the final third should the Chilean arrive.

Frank Lampard will be looking at this move in a positive light, with the striker in the final year of his deal and Rovers surely needing to sell to avoid losing him for nothing.

Clauses and bonuses will no doubt be included in the deal so it fits our finances correctly, but that should be fine as long as they are realistic and reach that fee that is upwards of £15million.

Who would you rather play for, Everton or Fulham? We are making big moves in this window and have the new stadium to look forward too, it is a no brainer.

Goodison Park has been a hive of activity today, and could Diaz be the final man through the door? We hope.
