Everton Women expert delighted with appointment of Brian Sorensen

We’re delighted to welcome Peter MacFarlane, member of the Everton Women Official Supporters Club, as our exclusive Everton Women expert.

Everton Women expert Peter MacFarlane is excited about the new additions that new manager Brian Sorensen has made since his arrival at the club.

Norwegian defender Elise Stenevik was announced (7 September) as the Toffees’ latest addition after Everton agreed an undisclosed fee with Eskilstuna United for the 22-year-old.

Stenevik is Sorensen’s ninth summer addition and MacFarlane is really impressed with the new and exciting signings at the club.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, MacFarlane said: “As the new season approaches the mood amongst Evertonians is very positive. New manager Brian Sorensen has come into the club and given us all renewed optimism, after such a turbulent and testing time last season.

“A number of players have left the club, as is the norm in women’s football due to the short length of most contracts, but Brian and his team have brought in a number of new and exciting signings who have changed the entire makeup of the squad, and, at the time of writing, we have managed to keep hold of our most prized assets.

“The FAWSL will be such a competitive league this season, especially now that Liverpool are back in the top flight, but I am confident that we will be able to compete strongly, especially with Sorensen in charge who has an incredible track record of winning trophies, and identifying and nurturing top talent in his native Denmark.”

Everton head into the new season with plenty of optimism, looking to improve on their tenth place finish from the 2021/22 campaign.

The Toffees kick off their campaign with a trip to Leicester City, who finished one place and seven points behind Everton last season.
