Everton v West Ham Premier League clash in doubt after Arsenal game called off

Everton may reportedly not face West Ham next week after seeing their game against Arsenal on Saturday being called off.

The Premier League decided not to have any matches over this weekend and it was a move that was followed by the rest of football in the country as well.

However, according to the Liverpool Echo, there is a chance of next weekend’s games being postponed as well which means that they may not play again until October.

More fixture congestion

This season was already tough to begin with, given the fact that the World Cup is scheduled in the middle of the season.

It meant that not only will the league start earlier, but players will not get the rest they require in between games and that can result in further injury concerns.

Postponing two gameweeks would be crazy and it remains to be seen how the clubs and managers react to this development.

Hopefully, saner voices prevail and football returns next week as they cannot keep postponing games with the international break also now upcoming.

Just when Everton gained some momentum after the Liverpool game, there’s a chance they will have to wait another month for their next game.

With players going out for internationals, there are no guarantees that they will return without picking up an injuries as these things keep happening during breaks.
