Paul Brown shares what to expect from Everton summer signing Neal Maupay
Paul Brown has suggested that Neal Maupay will be an “important” signing for Everton.
The striker joined the Merseyside club from Brighton this summer in a deal worth around £15m, and the Daily Star journalist feels he can fill the void left by Richarlison.
He suggests that Maupay has got similar qualities to that of Richarlison and that he is not a bad signing at all.

“I think we’ll see goals from Maupay and he’ll be an important signing for them. I think he gives them a lot of what they lost when Richarlison left, very similar qualities, and I don’t think it’s a bad signing at all,” said Brown to Give Me Sport (9 September).
Too early
Richarlison was a favourite among the fans. The Brazilian is a top-quality player and it comes as no surprise that he doing so well under Antonio Conte at Spurs.
This summer, Everton desperately needed to bolster their forward line, especially after Dominic Calvert-Lewin got injured. The club needed another strike option, and they signed Maupay who surprisingly fell down the pecking order at Brighton.
He is an experienced Premier League forward who gives more options for Lampard. However, he needs to improve his goalscoring record.

Maupay managed only 27 goals for Brighton and managed only eight goals in the Premier League last season. He cannot be called a prolific striker, but he is quick and smart and brings a lot to the table with his hard work and energy.
With better players around, Maupay can be an asset for the club. The present squad looks stronger than last season, although the Toffees lost Richarlison this summer.
They have added depth in a number of areas, and the squad is more balanced now.
