Asmir Begovic welcomes Eldin Jakupovic to Everton with three-word post on Instagram
Asmir Begovic has welcomed Eldin Jakupovic back to the Premier League after the former Leicester goalkeeper signed for Everton on Tuesday.
Everton announced via their official Twitter account on 13 September that Jakupovic, 37, has signed for the club on a short-term deal in light of injuries to Jordan Pickford and Andy Lonergan.
Begovic, 35, is expected to start in goals until at least Pickford is back from injury with Jakupovic presumably coming in as back-up for his fellow Bosnian-born shot-stopper.

In response to Everton’s Instagram post about Jakupovic’s arrival, Begovic said in Croatian: “Welcome back, brother.”

Welcome, Eldin
We doubt we’ll ever see Jakupovic play for Everton but he’s bound to find himself on the bench every now and then in the coming weeks due to injuries to Pickford and Lonergan.
We’ve got to be honest and say we’re very worried about upcoming games due to those injuries.
Begovic may be an experienced goalkeeper with over 250 Premier League appearances and 63 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina. But his form in his time at Goodison Park has been worrying and his lack of game-time in recent months suggests his gloves could take some time to warm up.
He did, however, keep a clean sheet against Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup on 23 August – so who knows?
In all seriousness, the Jakupovic signing is one that makes sense and it’s good cover for the current goalkeeper crisis that Frank Lampard has.
However, we would have liked to have seen some faith in the younger goalkeepers in the Under-21s or Under-18s because usually, an injury crisis like this would be a perfect opportunity for them to shine.
